Autumnal Equinox lo res

The summer ended with a wonderful late burst of light and energy.

I participated in a local Open Studio event, spanning two weekends which proved very rewarding and inspiring. It also provided a great opportunity to meet so many new friends and neighbours we never knew and was a very different experience to showing in a gallery, so much more intimate and personal. I discovered people love local experience and enjoy participating in things on their doorstep, it is special to them and somehow more meaningful.

Amongst many other things I learnt is just what a privilege it is to create work that people want to see and display on their own walls. The pieces really come full circle when they are loved and given a new home. So a very big thank you to all those who made it such an enjoyable experience.

Now the light is drawing in and autumn is suddenly here, the seasons are a joy we should not take for granted, change can be liberating as well as daunting. Art is made for the indoors and darkness outside means we can light up our interior lives with colour and life. So enjoy your artworks and raise your glass to the seasons bounty.

This is a new abstract piece I have finished this week. September saw the Autumnal Equinox, night and day in equal measure and that gave it its title.

Light and Darkness in harmony is good for the soul!

Best regards till next time.
