Thank you all for the very positive feedback to the site launch. The launch was exciting and trepidatious in equal measure.

Its great to be able to finally talk to you all. My week in view:
Paul Klee at the Tate proved something of a mixed blessing. A large show of small work, their individual intensity somewhat countered by the sheer volume of works on display. My art history lessons came flooding back to me and like his famous line I found myself taking a walk a little too quickly through the chronology to arrive at the late works which were splendid.
Klee has become an old master from another century, a strange feeling, when he was once so close.
Australian painting at the RA was very good in parts, mainly the indigenous ones and also some fabulous example of Tom Roberts and Brett Whiteley. Having visited Australia several time I think that the remit for this show could never live up to expectations. The disjuncture between the indigenous work and “Western” influenced painting is a bridge that even in Australia sometimes seems hard to cross. Aboriginal art is an iconic abstraction which Robert Hughes called the last great art movement. It always inspires me!
